Cloud Club

After six years of being a travel trainer for Dutch Bros Coffee and pursuing flying as a hobby, I faced a crucial decision. My flying hours accumulated in my logbook, but the expenses began to weigh heavily on my finances. I found myself torn between two passions that enriched my life in different ways.

The turning point came when I decided to become a flight instructor. This choice merged my love for aviation with a career path, allowing me to share knowledge, support my flying ambitions, and still get to exercise my passion for training.

My First Mistake

When I first started my Private Pilots License (PPL) training I made a mistake that I won’t let you make. I was fresh out of high school and had a little bit of scholarship money, but not enough to cover my entire PPL. I started flight training and working at the same time. I would only fly about 3 times a month, and every lesson felt like 2 steps forward, 1 step back. It was not efficient at all, and it only led me to spend more time and more money. Looking back, I wish I had saved up all of my money and devoted myself to flying and studying 5 times a week. I would have changed 1.5 years of training into 3 months, and would have saved $1,000s of dollars. I’m not going to beat around the bush, aviation is expensive and we know that. We also know that aviation is unlike anything else. It’s indescribable. Your office is in the clouds. Not many people get to say they love what they do… But you will.

-Now how do we avoid this same mistake for you?

My Mission

My mission is to create an efficient and enjoyable learning environment. I strive to be as transparent as possible. I’m looking for students that are willing to devote 2-3+ flights/ground lessons a week, the more the better. Typically 2-4 hour time blocks. This will allow for you to be able to build a strong foundation and develop muscle memory. just like in sports, practice makes perfect….. but remember, how you practice is just as important.

I have created lesson plans and will keep a binder specifically for your that has your progress recorded. This is a device that can help us be as efficient as possible when it comes to training. I’ll record what we did, things that we will need work on, things that you did really well, and score a grade at the end of each lesson.
